QUO VADIS: 'Cross Of Gold' Video Available
August 4, 2010"Cross Of Gold", the new animated clip from Polish thrashers QUO VADIS, can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Krzysztof Kuznicki of Great Pomerania Films and it tells "a story about chase for money that blinds us to everything but the mythical gold," according to a press release.
The "Cross Of Gold" video was filmed in Szczecin, Poland, in a house that at the end of the 19th century belonged to one of the richest industrialists of the region, August Lentz. Kuznicki used frame-by-frame technique, i.e. every single frame was printed, cut out and scanned and in the end animated to become a part of the story. A total of 16 thousand paper pages were printed out, out of which nearly eight thousand finally found their way to the final version of the clip. One second that you can see in the screen means a carton of individual little pages that had to be connected and synchronized with the music.
"Cross Of Gold" comes off QUO VADIS's eighth album, "Infernal Chaos", which came out earlier this year. The CD was recorded at Hertz studio (BEHEMOTH, VADER, DECAPITATED, TRAUMA) in Bialystok, Poland. The follow-up to 2007's "Babel" is the band's first LP sung only in English.
QUO VADIS mixes old-school trash, death metal with modern sounds and melodic choruses.
The band celebrated its 20-year anniversary in 2008 with a special concert in Slowianin which was filmed for a DVD release.
